As I do more research and learn more about ingredients I am updating the list of brands I would personally recommend and that I would feel safe using. Some brands have been removed from my list and some brands have been marked with an *. (see bottom of page for more info about these brands).
Green washing is also a big issue, making it more difficult to find clean & all natural products. Don’t just jump on a brand that has “all natural”, “organic”, etc., on their products, do your research. Look up the ingredients, research the brand and their values. Don’t be afraid to contact them directly and ask them about their ingredients. If they are a quality brand, they will tell you the truth.
Anywho, on to the brands I DO recommend!

Important Notes About Brands marked with *:
Please use your own discretion to avoid noted ingredients from specific brands below. I will still blog about some of these brands as the other ingredients they use are good, except for the brands that test on animals. For more info on the ingridients noted below and why I avoid them click [here].
ACURE: some products contain artificial fragrance (Body Beautiful & Simply Smoothing hair care).
Aether Beauty: some products contain Phenoxyethynol. Update: 7/2019, products no longer contain Phenoxyethynol.
Andalou Naturals: products were reformulated in early 2017 and some products now contain Dimethicone and Phenoxyethynol.
ILIA: some products contain Phenoxyethynol.
Jane Iredale: some products contain Dimethicone (silicone).
John Masters Organics: reformulated sometime in 2019, product sizes have decreased but prices are the same. Formulas look the same as before.
Kopari: some products contain Phenoxyethynol.
Nourish Organic: new 2019 skin care products (Botanical Beauty) contain Phenoxyethynol.
Seaweed Bath Company: some products contain Dimethicone (silicone) and skin care contains Phenoxyethynol.
Thayers: some, if not all products contain Phenoxyethynol.
type: A Deodorant: products contains Dimethicone (silicone).
W3LL People: purchased by ELF 3/2020, may no longer be cruelty free?
I am 100% against using silicones (liquid form) and Phenoxyethynol in all of my beauty products. If you choose to use products with these ingredients just be advised of my concerns about them over on my “Ingredients to Avoid” page. Knowledge is power people. π€π‘π
Important Notes About Brands Not Included:
Alba Botanica: some products contain Coumarin and Phenoxyethynol.
Beauty Counter: using Phenoxyethynol, very high on the ingredient list, which leads me to believe its higher than a 1% concentration, which is dangerous. Read more about Phenoxyethynol on my “Ingredients to Avoid” page.
Briogeo: some products contain Phenoxyethynol and have artificial fragrance.
Burt’s Bees: bought by Clorox in 2007, no longer a “clean” brand. Also own GΓΌd.
Desert Essence: some products contain Coumarin – whoβs origin is not noted on products or website, which I personally do not like. See more about coumarin on my Ingredients to Avoid page.
Pacifica Beauty: some products contain Dimethicone (silicone), “fragrance” and Phenoxyethynol. 2019: Quality of products has gone down hill. I think their product line is too big now to provide the quality they had when the first launched as a brand.
RMS Beauty: owner/CEO Rose Marie Swift has made racist comments in the past. This brand will NEVER be be featured on my blog.
Schmidt’s: On 12/14/2017 Schmidts announced they sold to Unilever, a company that tests on animals. I will not support any company (or parent company) that tests on animals. Period.
True Botanicals: acquired by Unilever in 2018, a company that tests on animals. I will not support any company (or parent company) that tests on animals. Period.
W3ll People: pending cruelty free update. Purchase by ELF, 3/2020.
